Among the laser instruments one has to distinguish between heading lasers and rotary lasers. All canal construction-, interior work- and sounding lasers belong to the heading lasers, with whom axles at the site are visualized. Among the rotary lasers there are devices with visible and invisible beams (infrared range approx. 780 nm), so called diode lasers. Diode lasers have a very low range and do always need a receiving detector. Within the limits of the self-levelling range the fine adjustment of the device takes place automatically.
